Experience Independence Day in Cape May

It seems hard to believe that July is already here and June is now behind us. While June may have gone by in a blink of an eye, we are looking forward to the new month and especially the Fourth of July. Independence Day celebrations across the country are a big “to do” this week but there is nothing quite like celebrating Independence Day in Cape May. With events galore in Cape May, there is no wrong way to celebrate our country’s birthday. Here are some of our favorite Fourth of July events in Cape May. The celebrations start now!

Independence Day Parade

Kick off the celebrations with a parade! Scheduled for Saturday, July 1st at 1:00 pm, this parade takes place along Beach Ave. Enjoy seeing vintage cars, festive floats and listening to live music from several different musicians. More details are available here.

Historic Cold Spring Village Celebration

Celebrate all things American at the historic Cold Spring Village. This annual celebration includes patriotic activities and events perfect for the entire family. Held July 1st and 2nd from 10:00am to 4:30 pm, you will enjoy learning some great American history while having a great time. Don’t worry, the kids will be so fascinated that they won’t even know they are learning! Tour the restored buildings of the village and see some of the early American trades and crafts that helped lay the foundation of this country. Spending time at Cold Spring Village this weekend is the perfect way celebrate this year’s Independence Day.

Live Music at Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille

Music and celebrations go hand-in-hand and Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille is the perfect place for live music. With Cape May’s best rooftop bar, you’ll enjoy great food, drinks, and music at the best location in town. Harry’s has live music every night as early as 4:00 pm. With a variety of bands, there is something for all music lovers to enjoy. So get those toes tapping and head to Harry’s to complete your Fourth of July weekend celebrations.

Concert and Fireworks at the Cape May Ferry Terminal Lawn

You can keep the celebrations going with a visit to the Cape May Ferry Terminal. Bring your blankets and chairs and your friends and family for an evening filled with live music. Plunk down on the lawn and listen to live music as you get ready for the big fireworks show. Pack your favorite snacks or pick up a delicious meal from Harry’s to munch on while you wait for the fireworks. Music starts at 6:00 pm on July 3rd and is followed by a fireworks show you won’t want to miss.

Carnival at Congress Hall

Fun festivities at Congress Hall will keep you entertained. The grounds transform on July 3rd for this perfect family event. Face painting, balloon art, delicious snacks and treats, you name it and you will find it at Congress Hall. Held Monday, July 3rd from 5:30 pm-9:00 pm, you will want to add this event to your Independence Day celebration “to do” list.

Fireworks Extravaganza

We saved the best for last with the fireworks extravaganza! This annual event takes place at Congress Beach on July 4th. The show begins at 9:00 pm and includes an hour of dazzling fireworks. Celebrate Cape May style this year with one of the best fireworks shows around.
