Cape May Bike Routes

Cape May is exceptionally bike-friendly. In fact, many believe the best way to enjoy Cape May is via bicycle. There are many routes to choose from, some more rigorous than others, but each accessible to all.

Cape May Promenade

Also known as the Boardwalk, Cape May’s promenade runs parallel to Beach Avenue and stretches for nearly two miles. Enjoy beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean, plus access to some exceptional local shops.

The Wildwoods

This scenic bike route runs almost the entire length of Cape May, with a dedicated bike lane through the length of North Wildwood. It also offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean throughout.

Cape May Shoreline

The Cape May Shoreline route features destinations like Cape May Lighthouse, Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal, Cape May Nature Center, and Sunset Pavilion. Enjoy Cape May’s most popular sights while enjoying the fresh air, sunlight, and shoreline scenery.

Lower Township

Tour the Lower Township via the Cold Spring Bike path. This 2.7-mile paved bike path stretches through Erma and Sally Marshall Crossing and features a 40ft pedestrian bridge over an intermittent stream.

Middle Township

The Middle Township Bike Path is nearly 8 miles long and runs south from the Cape May County Park & Zoo to Sally Marshall Crossing. It follows the old railroad bed of the Cape May Seashore Line and links the zoo, Atlantic Cape Community College, the 4-H Fairgrounds, and more.
