How to Have a Romantic Weekend in Cape May.
Beautiful ocean views, fresh air, exceptional eateries – it’s no wonder Cape May is considered one of the most romantic spots on the Jersey Shore.
In fact, this month we helped one of our guests pull off a surprise engagement on the beach. She said YES! Montreal Beach Resort has everything you need for an unforgettable romantic weekend in Cape May. In search of some ideas for an upcoming trip for two? We’ve got you covered.
Start off with a trip to the beach.
Montreal Beach Resort is ideally situated steps from the beautiful Atlantic coast. Check-in, throw your swimsuits on, and enjoy the cabanas at the Montreal Beach Club. Here, you’ll find everything you need to relax, recharge, and reconnect oceanside. Plus, our friendly Beach Club staff will do all the heavy lifting. Just show up, tell them what you need, and enjoy the Shore!
Next, enjoy a fun and romantic dinner.
Try our onsite restaurant, Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille for exceptional oceanside dining with sprawling views of the Atlantic Ocean. Harry’s is the only seaside restaurant in Cape May with a rooftop patio. Outstanding entrees include stuffed scallops, summer salmon, and steak frites. Try our acclaimed Orange Crush or Orange Crush with CBD for a delicious summer cocktail with a twist.
For an especially intimate dinner, try 401 Bank Street. 401 Bank Street is a French Creole restaurant that serves entrees Zagat has called a “taste bud explosion.” It’s a BYOB establishment, so be sure to stop by our onsite liquor store, The Wine Cellar, for the best selection of wines from Cape May and around the world. The Wine Cellar also features a wide array of spirits, as well as domestic and craft beers.
Take a stroll through picturesque Victorian Cape May.
Cape May is known for its beautiful Victorian architecture. There’s no better time to enjoy it than on warm summer evenings. This year, the city is a little quieter than usual, so it’s not uncommon to be one of few couples enjoying the scenery. Take this opportunity to turn up the romance.
Spend some time poolside.
The pool at Montreal Beach Resort is an excellent place to unwind. Loung in the sun and enjoy poolside service from Harry’s Ocean Bar and grille. For lunch, we recommend the Fried Oyster BLT, Summer in Cape May Salad, or Fish Tacos.
Visit a local Cape May winery.
There are many beautiful wineries in Cape May. Spend a lovely afternoon outside walking the vineyards and tasting wine. Wineries open this summer are: Willow Creek Winery, Cape May Winery, and Hawk Haven, among others. Some wineries host regular special events like Vinyasa in the Vines and comedy shows, so be sure to check with them for more details.
Montreal Beach Resort is open seasonally, May through December. We hope you’ll join us for your next romantic weekend in Cape May.
